CAN YOU SPARE SOME TIME TO
HELP
DOGS LIKE THESE

Although much of the 'hands on' work is taken care of by the
wonderful team at the kennels we do always need volunteers to take
the dogs to the vet, to carry out home checks and then follow up
visits. We also need people who would be happy to meet potential
owners at the kennels to introduce them to the dogs and complete
the paperwork, etc.
If you feel that you could assist us in any of these ways and
you have a little spare time, particularly during the week, please
give us a call or email for further information. We are always very
grateful for any help people can give us.

FOSTERING
Could you offer a temporary foster home for one of our
dogs whilst we look for their forever home.
We will cover all costs for food and veterinary treatment
and we are always there for support and advice.
Harriet, our newest foster carer, has written the follow
about her experience so far.
I have recently become a Dog Foster Carer for Happy Breed
Dog Rescue Society and am really enjoying being able to help other
dogs; the way people once helped my own wonderful
dog.
My own dog is a female Labrador Staffordshire Terrier
cross, who I re-homed when she was 18 months old, from a local
rescue home. She had been in rescue for nearly a year and was
frightened of people, dogs and any strange noise. After 6
months she had almost completely changed, loving nearly everyone
she meets and really enjoying the company of other dogs. I
often think that if a rescue home had not been happy to look after
her and pay for her care for nearly a year, I wouldn't have her
here with me today. I want to use the skills I developed to
help her to relax and grow in confidence, to help others dogs
too.
Happy Breed Dog Rescue Society has been wonderful.
They encouraged me to take my own dog to meet potential foster
dogs, to ensure they would get on well together. Happy Breed
are always on hand at the end of a telephone to offer advice and
encouragement, as well as to book the foster dog in to visit the
vet's clinic if needed.
I would love to have two dogs of my own all the time, but
can't really afford two dogs, so having one of my own plus a foster
dog is the very next best thing. My own dog really loves
having doggy company around the house, the two dogs are never far
apart. When my current foster dog is re-homed with a new
family, I will also have the excitement of looking forward to
whatever new foster dog I will be able to help next.
