Update
Hello again from the fundraising team. Still seems that
we’re reeling from the success of the Christmas Coffee morning - monies raised
so far by the raffle is £762 bringing the total for Christmas Fair to £1,550.
Well done everyone and a BIG THANK YOU.
Our coffee morning on Saturday, 9th February was a
‘massive bric-a-brac & book sale’ in addition to our usual stalls. An all-out
effort enabled us to get all our stock to a venue and offer items for sale that
had not previously been seen. The morning was extremely successful – with people
queuing out the door at the start – raising just over £560. This represents a
tremendous start to the fundraising year.
On Saturday, 8th March there will be our Easter
Coffee Morning at Adastra Hall, from 10 am til 12 noon and we look forward to
seeing everyone there. Stalls include: homemade cakes & jams, bric-a-brac,
books, doggie things (including beds, towels & food etc) and raffle. Hopefully
we will be enjoying some nice warm spring weather and much less rain!
We are looking for a new Head of Fundraising as I retire in May
this year. This opportunity entails organising and booking events, arranging 5
coffee mornings per year in local halls, one dog show, a Christmas fair and
grand raffle; write up details of fundraising events for our twice yearly
newsletter and an article once a month in a local community magazine. Ideally
the person (or couple) would be computer literate. We are also seeking any
additional volunteers in our local area to help us transport items to and from
the coffee mornings. Please don’t feel obliged to stay to help at the coffee
morning although that would be great if you could but not essential. The
community of Hassocks and Hurstpierpoint have been so kind in donating items for
us to sell but the time has now come where we can’t actually get all our stock
to a coffee morning due the lack of transport. Please do call Gina Price to
have a chat on 01444 230658.
Thank you so much again for your support. Take care, regards,
Gina Price & all the fundraising team.
