Buster

Buster1Buster2

Having 'lost' our elderly dog we were looking for a playful energetic dog for our family but also as a companion and a match for our three year old dog Digger. We decided not to get a puppy (as from experience they are such hard work, particularly when you have a busy family life) so we approached Happy Breed to see what dogs they had. There waiting for us was Buster, who had a similar energy to our current dog. Buster has turned out to be THE perfect match! Buster and Digger play and play for hours - indoors and out. They love to run and chase each other in fields and woodlands and play tug-of-war together indoors. All Buster needs is two good walks a day and he settles quietly in the evening. Buster gives us endless laughs and entertainment but also endless love with those big brown eyes, lots of licks, snuggling on our laps and constant happy tail thumping. He loves everyone on two legs or four legs and they, in turn, all adore him. Such a happy and content dog with boundless enthusiasm. He loves to run and play with our children and participate in all their ball games (including puncturing the occasional ball with his enthusiasm - but he is quickly forgiven because he is so loveable). A perfect match for our family - we love Buster loads and so does our other dog Digger. We would be lost without him. Thank you so much to Happy Breed for bringing this fantastic dog into our family!

Cindy

Before Cindy came into our lives, we had lost our dear dog 'JJ' to cancer four months previously.  At that sad time, like everyone else says, I said  "I can't have another dog"! I just felt that I could not go through that heartbreak again, although I have said that many times before - I believed I really meant it this time!

Throughout my childhood and then married life, we always seemed to have a dog.  Weeks after saying that I would not have another dog, I started to regret this, as I knew deep down that sooner or later I would have another one.

At this time, we lived on a farm.  All you could see from our house was lush green fields and just down the lane was a long, winding river - super for walks and super for dogs!

A few weeks later, my husband and I were looking through the Friday Ad and, of course, we would not help but to have a quick look at the dogs section.  One ad stood out - it read 'Cindy needs a new home' - It went on to say that Cindy was an 18 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross and to contact Eve from Happy Breed Rescue.  Well you've guessed it - I rang Eve and we had a nice chat and she kindly offered to bring Cindy over to us so we could meet each other.  As soon as I saw Cindy, I knew that she would be staying!  She was brindle coloured and just so friendly - she even looked as though she was smiling at us!  Eve, who had been fostering Cindy, told us all about her.

That was nine years ago and we have never looked back.  What a lovely dog she is.  She is so placid and is just such great company.  Our grandsons grew up with the joy of having a lovable dog to take for walks and now our granddaughter is experiencing this as well.

We have moved down to the coast now and we go for long walks along the beach.  Cindy loves this and especially likes going swimming in the sea or any other water that she comes across!  Our Cindy has brought us so much pleasure and has also helped to keep us fit!  Finally, I would like to say a big 'THANK YOU' to Eve and to Happy Breed Dog Rescue for introducing us to Cindy and the happiness she has given us all.
